Alright everybody, get out the beads! A book full of great
bags, some round, some with cool elements, all with fantastic
designs.
This volume is less tutorial that the first volume by Suzanne,
but there are complete instuctions for each individual bag. Some
favorites: the Violet, the Orca, the Hearts Entwined round bag
and the Carosel round bag. Also, be sure to see the Nymph &
Her Beads ( a classic) and the stunning Stained Glass inspired
bags; Rose, Iris and the Butterfly. Oh, and don't miss the Twisted
Fringe tutorial onPage 26, it's a gem!

Uniquely Yours
will stretch your imagination and fire your enthusiasm, but it
won't get you started. Although Suzanne offers tips on some of
her 24 innovative amulet purses, the beginning beader will look
in vain for instructions on tubular peyote and purse construction.
If this is your first project you'll want to use a basic text
such as B&B #4 with your copy of this book. But it's worth
the trouble. Suzanne uses short rows of flat peyote to redefine
the standard shape of amulet purses. Rose buds and irises push
up above the top of two designs, and the tail of a dragon flails
up then curls around the side of another purse. The skirt of
the nymph and the tail of Ms. Lizzie Lizard extend into the fringe.
Suzanne does not list color numbers for the beads in the examples,
encouraging beaders to try their own variations. She charts color
alternatives for many of the designs and for others shows variations
by experienced beaders. Suzanne also believes too much fringe
is almost enough, evident in the elaborate fringes on each purse.
There are enough ideas here to see you through several seasons
of beading.
