Just when I thought it was safe to go into the water I found that another piece of text was omitted from the book. A tiny piece of text but a very important one! I needed to explain why the frame numbers I list in the book may for different frames than the ones you see in most of the photographs. The explaination is very simple and one that makes me angry every time I think of it. The company who imported the frames decided to drop ALL but one of the frames I used. Almost all of the beautiful beadwork was finished at this time and I was afraid I would have to scrap the entire book. After tears amd much gnashing of teeth I went on the search for other frames and thankfully there is another company importing them now. The new frames are made in Europe instead of Asia and are of a much higher quality although the price is about the same. I redrew the patterns to fit the new frames. If you have a frame (new or antique) you would like to use just lay it on the pattern and see if it will fit. The patterns in the book are as near to actual size as it is possible for me to make!You can easily add vertical rows or remove them..... just remember to keep the count an EVEN amount of rows. Lay the frame on the pattern and draw around the inside. You will need to leave two beads all the way around to fit inside the channel on the frame. IF YOU WANT THE NEW EUROPEAN FRAMES BE SURE TO TELL YOUR STORE THAT YOU DO NOT WANT THE ONES WITH LS IN FRONT OF THE NUMBERS... EXCEPT FOR LS64! YOU MAY FIND THE NEW ONES PREFACED BY THE LETTERS "BG" OR "HI" THESE ARE THE SAME FRAMES, JUST DIFFERENT DISTRIBUTORS. You can order almost any frame from Bag Lady Press. They import most of the frames on the market. There are links at the top of the page to pdf file that show the frames in actual size. |
