I can spend hours looking at this book, I am completely captivated by the antique purses shown, and by themodern interpretations of them. A little history is given for each bag, and for each one Suzanne has designed an evening bag, a chantelaine and a bracelet. These bags are all designed to be fittet onto a purse frame, but there are also instructions for making then to use with out the frame. And, of course, there are the bracelets. This book is less tutorial that others, and has a great photograph of both the original item as well as the completed beadwork. A must for everyone who has ever wanted a beaded handbag. Each one seems to get better and there are so many wonderful patterns based on historical beaded purses to be used on modern pieces of beaded art that it takes my breath away. The pattern graphs are all in color and easy to follow. Most of the new purse pattern graphs and new finished pieces are accompanied by a picture of the original antique purse. Although most of the beaded purses are done using purchased frames, there are general instructions on how to complete the purses without using a purchased frame. Suzanne has done it again - a beautiful book and a must have for anyone who loves collecting beadwork books and/or using beautiful pre-designed patterns.
